Oost Gelre chooses colour with Delosperma from Covergreen

For the design of several green areas in public space, the municipality of Oost Gelre has chosen to use Delosperma plant mats from Covergreen. The installation took place at various locations in Lichtenvoorde, where there was an immediate need for a ground cover that closes quickly, is visually appealing, and requires little maintenance.

 

Delosperma forms a colourful, dense carpet with a long flowering period. This makes it a suitable choice for public spaces where appearance and functionality must come together. In this project, the plant mats were deliberately applied on different soil types, including yellow sand and black soil, to monitor how the planting behaves under varying conditions.

 

With this application, the municipality is taking a step toward more sustainable management of public green spaces, without compromising on appearance or quality.
