The use of plant mats on a slope or angle has several advantages: plant mats prevent the soil from leaching (soil erosion) from the slope. Just like in any other situation with Covergreen® ground covers, you also immediately have the desired appearance on a slope or incline. It is also convenient for a slope to provide it with low-maintenance green, given the difficult maintenance and accessibility on a slope.
Another advantage is the absorbent effect of the substrate on which the Covergreen® plant mats are grown. This substrate acts as a temporary water buffer and in this way it can gradually release the rain water to the plant and the excess drainage in the subsurface of the slope. The powerful roots of the ready-to-use ground covers ensure that the soil is secured under the mats. The roots bring structure to the slope and thus prevent the rinsing and sagging of soil.
With the Covergreen® plant mats, up to 50 ° is possible on slopes. Optional ground pegs ensure the first anchoring immediately after installation. After about three weeks, these pens become redundant because the roots are then well attached to the substrate.
